the art of handmade paper
Our handmade paper is a testament to sustainability, tradition, and artistry. Instead of tree pulp, each sheet is crafted from 100% recycled cotton textile scraps. By transforming discarded fabric into paper, artisans not only reduce waste but also preserve forests by offering a tree-free alternative.
The Process
Skilled artisans break down cotton fibers into pulp, then press and form each sheet by hand. The sheets are laid in the sun to dry — a natural and time-honored technique requiring precision, patience, and years of practice. The soft, durable texture and signature deckled edges are proof of this craft, offering a tactile reminder of the human touch behind every page.
The Character
Because each sheet is handmade, no two are ever identical. Subtle differences in texture, weight, and shade create character and authenticity, turning each piece into a work of art. This natural individuality makes handmade paper especially valued by artists, writers, and lovers of fine stationery.
Handmade paper’s versatility is part of its beauty. It’s well-suited for sketching, writing, calligraphy, and bookmaking. It also elevates packaging, gift wrap, and stationery collections with its artisanal charm. We use this paper across our own stationery and packaging lines, sometimes decorated with hand-silkscreened patterns to bring additional artistry and story to the final product.
