Our Day at Safe Alliance
At Matr Boomie our mission is to create a world that is playful, compassionate and kind. We approach our work of making a difference in the world with a sense of responsibility and enjoyment. While we remain committed to our origin story of supporting the economic and social development of artisans and communities in India, we also strive to extend our impact locally.
As part of a company-wide initiative, we organize monthly "Lunch & Learns" at our Austin headquarters. These gatherings serve multiple purposes: to deepen our understanding of one another as team members, to explore topics that nurture our minds and bodies, and to learn about organizations that are creating lasting positive change in our local community. One such organization that shared their work with us during these events was SAFE Alliance. On May 4, 2022, our Austin-based team came together to give back to the community by volunteering at SAFE Alliance Austin.
SAFE Alliance is dedicated to ending abuse for all. Alongside volunteers from various businesses and organizations in the area, we collaborated to revitalize a community shelter playground. It was a proud moment for us to join forces and bring joy to at-risk families. Together, we cleaned up the playground area, transported materials, and laid a fresh foundation of mulch around the play area.
The experience of giving back was incredibly fulfilling, and we celebrated our efforts with a delightful team lunch at a local taco joint called Vera Cruz All Natural. It was a well-deserved reward that brought us closer as a team while supporting a local establishment.
