Our Latest Tradeshow + Trend Recap

We've broken down all the latest trends we've seen on the road to help your store get ready for the busiest season of the year.

1. Natural Mysticism:

Draws inspiration from the natural world, ranging from mushrooms, fauna, insects, and fruit. It reflects a sense of wonder, curiosity, and reverence for the diversity and beauty of life on Earth. It also taps into a growing interest in alternative spirituality, occultism, and witchcraft among younger generations.

Some of the characteristics of natural mysticism are:

  • The use of organic shapes, textures, and colors that mimic or contrast with nature.
  • The incorporation of natural elements such as plants, animals, fungi, and minerals into products, packaging, graphics, and interiors.
  • The exploration of themes such as magic, transformation, healing, and connection with nature.
  • The blending of modern and vintage aesthetics, creating a whimsical and nostalgic mood.

2. Soft-Core:

Trend that embraces sensorial design from organic forms, soft edges, curves, and arches in muted and muddy pastels, neutrals, and charcoal. It is influenced by cosy aesthetics and soft elements, such as plush fabrics, flowing water, and candles. It creates a soothing and relaxing atmosphere that invites comfort and warmth.

Some of the characteristics of soft-core are:

  • The use of rounded shapes, smooth surfaces, and gentle curves that contrast with sharp angles and straight lines.
  • The preference for earthy tones, pastel hues, and monochrome palettes that create a harmonious and calming effect. The use of charcoal tones instead of true black
  • A focus on texture and the handmade nature of objects.
  • The addition of candles, diffused light, and plants that create a soft glow and a natural touch.

3. More is More:

Celebrates color, pattern, and maximalism. It is influenced by the idea of expressing one’s personality, creativity, and joy through bold and eclectic choices. It also reflects a sense of optimism and resilience in the face of uncertainty and challenges.

Some of the characteristics of more is more are:

  • The use of vibrant colors, especially hot pink, that create a striking and energetic effect.
  • The mixing and matching of different patterns, such as florals, stripes, polka dots, and animal prints, that create a dynamic and playful look.
  • The leaning towards maximalism, which means adding more layers, details, accessories, and textures to the space or the outfit.
  • The re-emergence of the artcraft of beading, which adds sparkle, texture, and dimension to the design.
  • The architecture of good “clashing”, which means finding a balance and harmony between contrasting elements.
